The Soko Memorial Institute of Health Allied Sciences (SMIHAS) was officially registered on May 08, 2025, under the registration number REG/NACTVET/1176. This private non-profit organization is owned by the Santa Maria Academy and includes a pre-primary school, a secondary school, and a health center. The Institute is located in Urambo, Tabora, Tanzania. Our vision is to become a center of academic excellence in health training, research, health care, and consultancy within the country.
The primary purpose of the Institute is to complement government efforts in healthcare provision by training health professionals who are competent to work in both rural and urban health facilities. The administration of Soko Memorial Institute of Health Allied Sciences consists of six departments: Accounts, Social Welfare Services, Procurement and Supply, Security Services, Secretariat, Library and Computer Services.
